Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's volleyball team is at home for a pair of SUNYAC contests this weekend. Brockport takes on Oswego on Friday for a 6pm start and Cortland on Saturday at 1pm.
Senior Night: Friday night's match against the Oswego State Lakers will be Senior Night for the Golden Eagles. There will be a ceremony before the action gets started to recognize and thank the seniors for their commitment and contributions to the program. The group of seniors that will be celebrated include:

Myah Frostclapp,
Andrea Coyle,
Kerri McHale, as well as assistants
Brianne Acquard, and
Jessa Stores.
It's Homecoming: Saturday is Homecoming at SUNY Brockport, and Brockport will be hosting the reigning SUNYAC Champions from SUNY Cortland. This conference rivalry matchup in the afternoon is one of many events going on around campus to celebrate Homecoming Weekend. More details on all the special events can be found here:

Last Time Out: Brockport split a pair of non-conference matches over the weekend, falling to Ithaca (3-0) before taking the win over Sage (3-0). Despite getting swept by the Bombers, the match was competitive as the set scores included 28-26, 26-24, and 25-17. The squad bounced back with set scores of 25-13, 25-14, and 25-13 in the sweep over Sage.
Defensive Athlete of the Week: On Monday,
Madalyn Bowen was named the SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. owen totaled 46 digs in three matches for Brockport last week. With a total of 253 digs on the season so far, she ranks second in the conference. In a 3-1 victory over Geneseo in SUNYAC play, she led all players with 26 digs and averaged 6.5 digs per set.
Powerful 1-2 Punch: Jordan Thompson and
Andrea Coyle have been great all season for the Green and Gold, as the duo owns the top two spots in the SUNYAC for points and kills. Thompson is first in the conference with 260.5 total points and ranks second with 192 kills. Coyle is at the top of the SUNYAC with 200 kills and is right behind Thompson with 235.0 points this season. With 49 aces, Thompson is tied for first in the conference in service aces as well.
Brockport's Top Blocker: Middle blocker
Myah Frostclapp has consistently turned away opposing attackers, leading the team in blocks. With 51 total blocks on nine solo and 42 assisted blocks, Frostclapp ranks second in the SUNYAC.
Setting the Table: The Golden Eagles have greatly benefitted from strong play out of the setters
Kerri McHale and
Ashley Allen. With 331 assists, McHale leads the team and ranks fifth in the SUNYAC. Allen is close behind with 272 assists, ranking sixth in the conference.
Looking at Oswego: The Lakers enter the week with a 14-6 overall record and a healthy 4-1 mark in the SUNYAC. They have been on fire as of late, currently riding the momentum of a 10-match win streak. With 183 kills, Cara Simplicio leads the team and ranks third in the conference. McKenna Corbin is at the top of the conference with 554 assists this season.
Scouting Cortland: The Red Dragons are 11-3 overall and 5-0 in the SUNYAC so far this season as the reigning conference champions. They have won four in a row heading into the week, sweeping four straight SUNYAC opponents. Zoe Staats leads Cortland with 154 kills and owns a .352 hitting percentage on the season. Alexa Guedez and Emma Reilly both have at least 40 blocks, while Meadow Wittman leads the team with 224 assists.
Up Next: Following the busy weekend at home, the Golden Eagles begin a streak of four matches on the road against Plattsburgh. They travel to take on the Cardinals for more SUNYAC action on Friday, October 14
