Brockport, NY - The 
Brockport women's basketball team will open 
SUNYAC play this weekend, taking on Oneonta on Friday, December 1
st at 5:30 pm, before taking on New Paltz on Saturday at 2 pm.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles overcame a double-digit deficit last Tuesday at Rochester, taking down the Yellowjackets, 61-57.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste would finish with a game-high 20 points, showing off her versatility with four steals and seven rebounds.
Anna Lee put together her best performance of the year thus far, dropping 16 points along with four rebounds and two steals.
Zairea Hannah (14 points, 9 rebounds) and 
Shannon Blankenship (8 points, 4 rebounds) were effective as well, with Blankenship adding two steals and two three-pointers.
Despite having 17 fewer attempts, the Golden Eagles matched the 
Yellowjackets 23 makes while also 
outshooting Rochester 40.4% to 31.1% from the floor.
The Golden Eagles moved to 4-1 on the season following Tuesday's win.
SUNYAC Standouts: Through five games, multiple Golden Eagles rank among the 
SUNYAC's finest in several statistical categories.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste has paced the 
Brockport offense to begin the season, with her 19.0 ppg ranking third-best in the 
SUNYAC thus far. Jean-Baptiste has led the charge defensively as well, currently leading the 
SUNYAC with 3.4 steals per game.
Zairea Hannah has controlled the glass for the Green and Gold, grabbing 8.8 rebounds per game for fourth-best in the conference. Hannah has also shown efficiency on offense, making 51.2% of her field goal attempts, which is good for seventh-best in the conference.
Zoe Zutes has locked down the paint for the Golden Eagles, ranking third in the 
SUNYAC with her 1.8 rejections per contest.
 
Hali Lucia has been a strong playmaker for Brockport, as her 3.8 assists per game landing her at fourth in the SUNYAC.
 
Scouting Oneonta: The Red Dragons have started the 2023-24 season 2-2, most recently defeating Mount Saint Mary College 62-47. Oneonta is led by senior guard Molly Stephens, who leads the Red Dragons with 11 points per game. The Golden Eagles will enter Friday looking to end the Red Dragons' 3-game winning streak in the head-to-head series.
 
Scouting New Paltz: The Hawks have gotten off to a strong 3-1 start to the season, most recently dropping their first game of the season to New Jersey City on the road, 75-71. Brianna Fitzgerald has been one of the best players in the SUNYAC to begin the year, averaging 20.5 ppg and 8.3 rebounds. Brockport will enter Saturday's game looking for its first win over New Paltz since 2018.
