Brockport, NY- The Brockport baseball team will be at Monroe Community College for a three-game slate against Plattsburgh St, beginning on Friday, March 31
st at 11 am, with the second game taking place at 2 pm, before finishing up the series on Saturday at 11 am.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles completed a three-game sweep of New Paltz on the road last weekend.

Game One:
Brockport escaped with a 4-3 victory in the first of two games on Friday. 1B
Patrick Bigham got the offense rolling with a 3-run homer in the third, giving Brockport an early 3-0 advantage. 2B
James Houlahan came through in the clutch with an RBI single in the 6
th to regain the lead, the most important of his four hits in the game.
Anthony Lapine earned the save in an extended outing, going 4 hitless innings with 5 punchouts.

Game Two: The Golden Eagles scored early and often in their 14-4 win in game two of the three-game set. RF
Zach Eldred drilled a two-run homer in the 5
th for his 4
th RBI on the day, stretching the lead to 11-3. CF
Nicholas Pastore added 4 hits with 3 doubles, and P
Matt McGowan earned the win with a gutsy 6-inning outing, striking out 5 and allowing just 3 earned runs.

Game Three: Brockport rallied back from a 7-2 deficit to complete the sweep and win 11-10 in 6 innings.
Zach Eldred,
Ryan Mansell, and
Brian Tietjen all recorded 2 RBI, with Tietjen's RBI single in the 5
th bringing Brockport back in front 11-10. P
Ryley O'Connell picked up his first win on the season, and
Justin DelVecchio got the final two outs to pick up the save. Brockport improved to 11-6 following the weekend and extended their winning streak to 7 games.

Anyway On: Four Golden Eagles have posted exceptional on-base percentages of .425 or better to begin the season.
Zach Eldred leads the Golden Eagles with a .473 OBP and holds a team-leading 1.140 OPS.
Nicholas Pastore holds a team 2
nd .468 OBP and is tied with Eldred for the team lead in batting average (.397).
Justin Pangburn leads the Golden Eagles with 15 walks and holds an excellent .452 OBP. 2B
James Houlahan ranks second on Brockport in walks (11), and holds a strong .425 OBP.

Matt McGowan has been the go-to starter in the Brockport rotation, posting a 3-1 record across 5 starts with a solid ERA of 3.18. McGowan leads the Brockport pitching staff in IP (28.1), and strikeouts (29), and is the only Brockport pitcher with a complete game on the season.

Bullpen Stability: Pitchers
Anthony Lapine,
Andrew Huffman, and
Adam Douglas have stabilized the Brockport bullpen thus far. The trio all post ERAs under 3.00 and combine for an effective 44 strikeouts in 33.3 innings.

Scouting Plattsburgh: The Cardinals have begun the season 4-10 overall with a 0-3 record in SUNYAC play, most recently on the short end of a sweep against SUNY Oneonta. Brockport has had the upper hand on Plattsburgh in the head-to-head series, winning 4 of the last 5 including the last matchup 12-3.
