Brockport, N.Y.- The Brockport baseball team will have four non-conference games this upcoming week, beginning with the Faculty & Staff Day at the Ballpark game against St. John Fisher University at home on Wednesday, April 26
th at 3:30 pm, followed by a road matchup against RIT on Thursday, April 27
th at 3 pm, before closing out the week in senior day doubleheader action against Bard College on Saturday, April 29
th at 12 pm and 3 pm.

Faculty & Staff Day at the Ballpark: Prior to the matchup with St. John Fishers, Brockport Athletics will honor the dedication and commitment of the faculty and staff that have made a contribution to the education and growth of Brockport student-athletes.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles came away with two wins against nationally ranked #24 Cortland in their three-game set last week. Brockport dropped game one of Friday's doubleheader 4-0 before winning 3-2 in game two, snapping Cortland's D3 best 17-game winning streak. The Green and Gold would dominate the Red Dragons 13-3 in game 3 to take the series.

Game One: The Red Dragons would hold Brockport to just one hit, thanks to a strong effort from Dylan Beers (W, 6-1), holding Brockport to one hit and striking out 6 across 6 innings. OF
Ryan Mansell recorded the lone hit for Brockport in game one, also reaching base with a walk in the 9
th.
Adam Douglas (L, 4-2) produced a quality outing on the bump, allowing just one earned run and striking out six across 7 innings of work.

Game Two: Despite being outhit 9-4 in game two, Brockport would halt Cortland's winning streak. Trailing 1-0 early,
Josh Indek ripped an RBI single in the second and would score on an error to put Brockport ahead 2-1.
Johnny Genau would come around to score on an error in the 7
th to give Brockport a much-needed insurance run.
Matthew Colucci (W, 4-2) kept Brockport in the game with a strong 7.1-inning outing, giving up just two runs and striking out 4 Red Dragons.
Anthony Lapine picked up the save (3) with a perfect 1.2 innings, allowing no baserunners.

Game Three: Four Golden Eagles recorded two hits or more in the 13-3 rout of Cortland in game three. Brockport entered the 5
th up 6-0 thanks to RBI hits from
Zach Eldred and
Ryan Voight in the 3
rd, and later from
Justin Pangburn in the 4
th. The Red Dragons would cut the lead in half entering the sixth, but seven unanswered runs by the Green and Gold would end the game due to the ten-run rule in the 7
th, highlighted by home runs by
Zach Harter and

Brockport improved to 22-10 overall and 12-3 in the conference following the weekend and sits just one game behind Cortland for first place in the SUNYAC.

Historic Weekend: With wins in game 2 and game 3 against Cortland, this marks the first time since 2013 that the Golden Eagles have won consecutive games against the Red Dragons, with the 13-3 win in game 3 being the largest margin of victory recorded by Brockport since at least 2004.
Heating Up: P Matthew Colucci has been in mid-season form as of late, winning 5 of his last 6 starts and recording 5 strikeouts or more in 3 of his last 6 starts. His best performance came against Plattsburgh, going all nine innings and allowing just one hit, and striking out 14 Cardinal batters.
Scouting St. John Fishers: The Cardinals currently sit at 20-12 overall with a perfect 12-0 record in conference play. St. John Fishers is led by INF Noah Campanelli, who is currently slashing an absurd .460/.522/.777 with 5 triples, 6 home runs, and 34 RBIs in 31 starts. The Green and Gold held a 5-game winning streak in the series before losing this years meeting 2-1 in Rochester.
Scouting RIT: The Tigers hold an overall record of 15-12 and an 8-5 record in conference play in the 2023 campaign. RIT is coming off a three-game Liberty League sweep of Hobart College and are led by utility man John Bagley, who leads the Tigers with a .432 batting average and .477 OBP. Brockport has dominated the recent head-to-head series, winning the last 5 matchups dating back to 2019 and last year's matchups 8-5 and 12-5.
Scouting Bard College: Bard College holds a 7-17 record in their first 24 games with a 5-11 conference record. The Raptors are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and will take on Williams College (MASS) before heading to Brockport. The two teams have not met since 2019 when Bard College won both meetings.
Next Up: Brockport will hit the road to take on Ithaca College on Tuesday, May 2nd at 4 pm.
