Brockport, N.Y.- The Brockport baseball team will begin their last week of regular season play with a non-conference matchup at Ithaca College on Tuesday, May 2
nd at 4 pm before hosting Oswego State for a 3-game set, starting on Friday, May 5
th at 3 pm, and finishing with a doubleheader on Saturday, May 6
th with games taking place at 12 pm and 3 pm.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles split a doubleheader with visiting Bard College, winning game one 19-3 and losing game two 7-5.

Game One: The Green and Gold set season highs in hits (20), runs scored (19), and at-bats (43) en route to a dominating 19-3 win. Brockport jumped out to a 4-0 lead following a
Zach Eldred RBI triple, the second of 4 RBIs and the first of 5 hits for Eldred in the contest. After a Bard rally brought the game to 6-3, the Golden Eagles responded by scoring 13 unanswered runs, highlighted by a
Mason Davis homer and RBI hits from
Zach Eldred,
Ryan Voight,
James Houlahan, and
Justin Pangburn.
Matthew Colucci (W, 5-2) gave a solid outing on the mound, going 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs and striking out 6.

Game Two: Bard College rode a strong outing from Aidan Risse (W, 5-2) to a 7-5 upset win over Brockport in game two. After trailing 2-0 entering the bottom of the 4
th, a
David Belsito RBI single cut the lead in half entering the 5
th. Bard would respond nearly instantly with a Jake Stacey 2-run homer in the 5
th to increase the lead to 4-1 and would homer again in the 7
th to give Bard a commending 7-1 lead. A Nick Pastore RBI double and
Zach Eldred 3-run homer in the bottom of the seventh brought the game to 7-5, but time would run out for the Green and Gold in the 7-inning matchup.

Ryan Mansell holds the 7th-best batting average in SUNYAC play (.388), and is 9
th in doubles (4).
Justin Pangburn is second in the conference in walks (11) and ranks 5
th in stolen bases (6).
Nicholas Pastore's 6 doubles are second-best in the conference, he also ranks 8
th in the SUNYAC in RBIs (14) and is tied in first with a perfect fielding percentage.
Matthew Colucci holds the SUNYAC lead in strikeouts per game (10.43) and is 2nd in total strikeouts (34).Â
Adam Douglas ranks 2nd in the SUNYAC in earned run average (2.01) and is 6th in strikeouts (27). Â
Scouting Ithaca College: The Bombers hold a 22-13 overall record with an 11-6 record in conference play. Â Ithaca held a top 25 ranking entering the 2023 season and is coming off a loss at home against Hobart College 9-6. Brockport has defeated Ithaca in their last two meetings, including last year's win at home 9-4.
Scouting Oswego State: The Lakers have an 18-17 record with a 9-6 mark in SUNYAC play and have clinched a spot in the SUNYAC postseason tournament. Oswego State is coming off back-to-back losses to Oneonta in SUNYAC play, by the scores of 12-8 and 11-9. Oswego is led offensively by Owen Parliment, who leads the team in OPS (1.107), total bases (73), and RBIs (31). Brockport came away with two wins over Oswego State last year, both on the road.
