New Orleans – The 2023 NCAA Division III All-Region honors for the outdoor track and field season have been released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
This year the Golden Eagles were awarded All-Region to 14 student-athletes across 18 different events. The women's team had 10 all-region honors and the men had eight in 2023.
Paul Suflita – 5000M, 10,000M & Steeplechase
Suflita had a strong year with Brockport and was awarded with all-region for all three of his events. He capped off the season with a regional title in the 10,000m. He clocked in at 31:09.89 for first place. He placed third in both the 10,000m and 3000m steeplechase at SUNYACs. His 5000m time of 14:37.97 set a school record.
Mia Montgomery – Long Jump & Triple Jump
Mia was recognized with all-region honors for both the long jump and triple jump. She took second place at regionals in the long jump with a 5.75m. Her SUNYAC Title distance of 5.81m in the long jump set a school record and qualified her to compete at nationals. With a distance of 5.03m she placed 21
st in the nation.
Sarah Crockett – Shot Put & Discus
Crockett placed inside the top six in the region for both the shot put and discus this year. With a personal-best throw of 41.04m she was sixth in the region for the discus throw. Sarah then went and recorded a 13.27m to place fourth in the shot put.
Alex Rood – Shot Put
Rood earned all-region honors after a successful year with the Green and Gold. He was able to manage a pair of top five finishes at the SUNYAC Championships, which included a 14.98m second-place throw in the shot put. He then went on to place 21
st at regionals with a 14.08m.
Veronica Dailey – Steeplechase
With a fifth-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase at regionals, Dailey snagged all-region honors. She ran a time of 11:29.23 for a top five finish in the event. This came after taking the bronze medal in the event at the SUNYAC Championships with a time of 11:26.53.
Kerry Flower – 10,000M
Flower added a regional championship to her trophy case this season to earn all-region recognition in the 10,000m. She won the event at regionals with a time of 36:49.27. She also won the SUNYAC Title for the 10,000m with a 36:59.37 earlier in the spring semester.
Dustin Meyer – Pole Vault
Meyer not only earned all-region to finish off his season, but he also gained All-American status in 2023. After setting the school record on the pole vault with a 5.10m in April he went on an incredible run. Dustin grabbed second at SUNYACs (4.70m), third at regionals (4.72m), and second at nationals (4.95m) for three top three finishes at championship meets.
Rebecca Heuler – Javelin Throw
As one of three national qualifiers for the Golden Eagles, Heuler of course earns all-region honors this season. She won the SUNYAC Title in the javelin throw with a distance of 37.39m. This was followed up by a 42.07m showing for third place at regionals. Rebecca ended the year at 15
th in the nation with her 38.37m at nationals.
Thomas Kressly – 1500M
Kressly was a top five finisher in the 1500m at regionals as well as a 4x800m relay champion. He ran a 3:54.75 to take fifth place in the region in the 1500m. Then he helped compile a 4x800m relay time of 7:47.77 to claim a regional title.
Jonathan Zavala – 1500M
Zavala set a new school record in the 1500m with a 3:48.17 on the way to earning all-region status. At the AARTFC Championships he placed 32
nd with a 4:05.95 in the event. He was also a member of the first place team for the 4x800m relay along with Kressly.
Sarah Killip – High Jump
Killip earns her spot in the all-region ranks in the women's high jump event. She placed third at the regional championship meet by clearing a height of 1.60m. This was after a 1.57m mark that just missed out on a bronze medal at the SUNYAC Championships.
Michaela Levesque – High Jump
Levesque matches her event teammate in Killip, by also earning all-region honors for the women's high jump. Her mark of 1.62m took the silver medal at SUNYACs before she hit 1.55m for seventh place at regionals.
Emma Kinnicutt – Hammer Throw
Kinnicutt steadily improved all season and was rewarded with all-region honors for the women's hammer throw. She finished eighth in the region at the AARTFC Championships with a personal-best toss of 48.66m. Emma also placed third in the hammer (46.73m) and second in the discus (38.41m) at SUNYACs.
Matthew Jackson – Hammer Throw
Jackson earned top 10 finishes across the board for the men's hammer throw to earn all-region. He threw a 54.93m for ninth at regionals. Earlier in the season he hit a mark of 53.26m to finish second at SUNYACs.
The Golden Eagles finished the year with three individual national qualifiers, which included one All-American showing at nationals in 2023.
