The winningest coach in both Siena College and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference history in any sport, and the longest tenured head coach in NCAA Division I Baseball history, Tony Rossi announced his retirement from Siena last Spring.

Rossi wrapped up his 54th season as the head coach of the Siena Baseball program with 936 career victories to his name. The longest tenured head coach in NCAA Division I Baseball history, and the longest active tenured college baseball coach at any level, Rossi tied for second all-time in NCAA Baseball history in seasons coached along with former Division II Bentley Head Coach Bob DeFelice. Former Division III coach Gordie Gillespie (59 seasons) is the only head baseball coach at any NCAA level to have ever coached longer than Rossi.

As a student-athlete at SUNY Brockport, Rossi excelled in baseball for three seasons earning SUNY All-Star acclaim each year. To this day, he ranks ninth all-time at Brockport in single season batting average. In 1964, he had the highest batting average (.477) in the East. The middle infielder also led Brockport with a .428 batting average in 1965.

Brockport Athletics Hall of Fame
Begun in 1985, the Golden Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame was established to recognize athletes, coaches and/or administrators who have made outstanding contributions to the intercollegiate athletics program at Brockport. In 2009, a "contributors" category was added to honor individuals who have made a significant impact on the College's athletics program and/or the honoree's professional field after attending or working at Brockport.

Nominations are accepted by the Brockport Athletic Department on an on-going basis. To be considered for the current year, a nomination must be submitted by no later than January 31 of the same year.
