Brockport, NY – The Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams traveled to Fredonia State where they competed in the NCAA Niagara Region Championships where the men placed third out of 22 schools in their 8k race, and the women placed 11
th in their 6k race out of 21 schools competing.
In the men's race, Jonathan Zavala took first place for Brockport and 10th place overall crossing the line with a time of 25:13.9. Taking second for the Golden Eagles was Charlie Alekson coming in at 15th overall at 25:34.7.
Clinching third for the team at 19th in the race was Patrick Klinger with a time of 25:46.7 and just one place later coming in 20th and fourth for Brockport was Sean Killip at 25:51.0.
Coming in fifth place for the Green and Gold was Jared Smith at a time of 26:00.0. Making his mark at 26:51.7 was Miguel Benito while also placing sixth for the team and taking seventh for Brockport was Thomas Kressly with a time of 27:02.4.
In the women's race,
Kylie Bowman took first for the Golden Eagles with a personal record of 23:49.4. Coming in second was
Sierra Basco making her mark on a board with a time of 23:57.4.
Clinching the third place spot for Brockport was
Mia Vizcaino at a mark of 23:58.6 and coming in fourth was
Ethne Degan at 24:09.1. Just one place later in the race came
Julianne Wilson good for a time of 24:13.4.
Taking sixth for Brockport was
Esther Nankumba at 24:27.4 and finishing in seventh for the Green and Gold was
Leah Lloyd with a time of 24:37.1.
