Brockport, NY – The Brockport Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams are set to open the 2025 season at home, where they will host the Tom Balon Alumni Classic at the Sweden Town Park on Saturday, September 7
th. The women are set to take off at 11 am, with the men starting at 12 pm.
Men's 2024 Recap – The men's team had a dominant year, finishing with a series of top-three finishes over the course of the season. The Golden Eagles started strong at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic with a first-place finish, took fifth place at the Harry F. Anderson at Roberts Wesleyan, and finished fourth at the Houghton Highlander Invitational. Post-season saw the same results with an impressive silver place finish at the Empire 8 Championships, also clinching bronze at the NCAA Niagara Region Championships. The team was also fortunate to send three qualifiers to the NCAA Nationals for the second straight year, consisting of Jonathan Zavala, Charlie Alekson, and Patrick Klinger.
Individual Awards – The men's team also had a handful of individual accomplishments following the Empire 8 Championships and Regionals.
Five athletes were fortunate to earn All-Region honors after the Niagara Region Championships, including Jonathan Zavala, Charlie Alekson, Patrick Klinger, Sean Killip, and Jared Smith.
Jonathan Zavala also earned First Team All-Conference after a stellar last season with the Golden Eagles, finishing with an 8k school record of 24:18. Charlie Alekson, Sean Killip, Patrick Klinger, and Jared Smith all earned Second Team All-Conference honors, and Miguel Benito finished Third Team All-Conference.
New Faces – The men's cross country program was fortunate to add several new additions to the team including grad student Aidan Mayer and freshmen Teddy Dangler, Joseph Massett Jr., Hunter Shanahan, Jacob Guelli, Bryson Jones, Colin Fletcher-Foster, Ethan Stauffer, Alexander Deal, Aiden Brown, Haiden Forster, Joseph Bonanno, Ethan Kidwell, Eduardo Salinas, Dominic Petrera, and Brayden Mahoney.
Women's 2024 Recap – The women's team also had a year starting strong with a second-place finish at the Tom BalonAlumni Classic. At Roberts Wesleyan, the Green and Gold finished up in fourth place, took another second place at the Paul Short Run at Leigh University, and had a sixth-place spot following the Houghton Highlander Invitational. At the Empire 8 Championships, the women took fifth place in their first year in the conference.
Individual Awards – After Empire 8 Championships, three athletes earned All-Conference honors.
Mia Vizcaino had a dominant 2024 cross country season, finishing seventh all-time in Brockport with a 6k personal record of 22:26, also earning First Team All-Conference.
Finishing with Third Team All-Conference honors after a series of impressive races were

Julianne Wilson.
Fresh Faces – The women's program added a handful of new athletes, including freshmen Isabel Laney, Rachael Gray, Beckah Triana, Rose Loomis, Natalie Heselton, Emma Tripi, Salma Moumen, Isabella Petrera, and Taylor Nugent.
