Brockport, NY– On Monday, December 2nd, the Empire 8 conference announced their selections for the Women's Cross Country All-Conference teams. The Golden Eagles earned three all-conference selections following a strong 2024 season.
First Team:
Graduate Student
Mia Vizcaino had a stellar season with the Green and Gold, finishing first for Brockport in multiple 6k races with a PR of 22:26.4, helping her earn both E8 First-Team and Sportswoman of the Year honors. Back in September, Vizcaino was named Empire 8 Runner of the Week following a strong performance at Brockport's Tom Balon Alumni Classic and went on to finish in the top 27 (seventh place overall) with a 40-second PR at E8 Championships, earning a medal for All-Conference accolades. A staple of the Brockport top-seven, Vizcaino also earned herself a spot at NCAA Regionals to close out the season.
Third Team:
Grad Transfer
Sierra Basco also had a strong season in her first with the Golden Eagles, finishing with a 6k PR of 23:19.0, and earning her spot on the E8 Third Team. Basco finished in the top eight in every race ran for the team. At the E8 Championships, she finished strong, crossing the finish line in second for Brockport and 21st overall, earning her medal and a spot at Regionals.
Senior
Julianne Wilson earned Third-Team all-conference after a consistent 2024 season, finishing in the top five for Brockport in multiple races throughout the season. Wilson finished off with a 6k PR of 23:27.6 at the E8 Championships. There, Wilson clinched 26th place overall and third for the team, earning herself a medal and a spot at NCAA Regionals.
