Brockport, NY - The defending SUNYAC Champion Brockport Golden Eagles will open the 2024 season against New Jersey City in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, February 24
th before taking on Kean University in New Jersey on Sunday at noon.
2023 Recap: After opening the season with a 4-6 record, the Golden Eagles put together an excellent 2023 campaign, going 29-18 overall (14-4 SUNYAC) and capturing their first SUNYAC title since 2010. Following an 8-0 loss against Stockton University on March 16
th, the Golden Eagles would rip off a 10-game winning streak, lasting until April 4
th. Following a Hometown Heroes doubleheader sweep of Oswego State, Brockport would roll to a 3-1 record in the SUNYAC tournament, cumulating in a 12-9 extra-inning comeback win over Cortland. Two wins over Cortland in both the regular season and postseason marked the first time in program history that the Golden Eagles have defeated the Red Dragons 4 times in a single season. After a 1-1 start in NCAA Regionals, Brockport's season would come to an end in an 8-6 loss against Susquehanna.
Award Winners: 7 Golden Eagles earned All-Conference selections, including the returning Co-Bob Wallace Player of the Year

Anthony Lapine made up the 1
st Team All-Conference selections for Brockport, with
Adam Douglas,
Justin Pangburn, and
Nicholas Pastore earning 2
nd Team All-Conference selections.

Key Returners: The Golden Eagles will return several key pieces from last year's SUNYAC Championship run, including Co-Bob Wallace Player of the Year
Zach Eldred. Eldred led the Golden Eagles in nearly every offensive statistic, including batting average (.389), hits (70), OPS (1.124), HR (6), and RBIs (44).
David Belsito will return behind the dish for Brockport, coming off a strong season with a .359/.417/.375 slash line. Starting 16 games last season, Belsito looks set to earn the everyday catching job in 2024.
Brockport will enter the 2024 season with an experienced pitching staff, with
Colin Pytlak,
Matt McGowan, and
Justin DelVecchio all returning as graduate students. As a trio, the three have combined for a 19-11 record, 246.2 innings pitched, and 244 strikeouts in their careers.
Home Schedule: The Green and Gold will play 16 games at the
Clark V. Whited Complex, with the home opener set for Friday, March 22
nd against Plattsburgh State. Brockport will host three contests against preseason-ranked teams. The first will be a tough test against #9 Wisconsin-La Crosse on March 17
th (DH). Brockport will host #25 Ithaca College on March 26
th before a critical three-game set beginning Friday, April 5
th with a doubleheader on April 6
th against #10 Cortland. The Golden Eagles Senior Day will take place on Saturday, May 4
th at noon as they play a doubleheader against Oneonta.
Road Schedule: Brockport will take part in 29 road games, beginning with 18 straight road matchups that will have the Green and Gold travel to New Jersey, South Carolina, and Florida. The Golden Eagles' first road SUNYAC series will take place at #10 Cortland on Friday, April 5
th with a doubleheader on April 6
th. Brockport will close out road play with a 3-game set against Plattsburgh on April 26
th with a doubleheader on April 27
th.
