BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Women's Basketball team will host the 58 Main BBQ & Brew Tip-Off Classic, beginning with a matchup against William Smith College on Friday, November 21st at 5 PM. The Golden Eagles will then take on Ithaca College on Saturday, November 22nd, at 3 PM.
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles were defeated at Hamilton College, 88-64, on Tuesday, November 18th. Brockport dropped to 1-3 on the season following the non-conference loss.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste (7 REB, 2 STL) and
Mandy Brink (5 REB) each dropped 13 points to lead the Golden Eagles' offense.
Jackie Kozakiewicz led all players with four steals, adding five points and two assists off the bench.
Casey Mahony made the most of her minutes, hitting two three-pointers and leading the squad with two blocks.
Tip-Off Classic: The Golden Eagles welcome William Smith College, Fredonia, and Ithaca College to Brockport for the 2025 58 Main BBQ & Brew Tip-Off Classic. Brockport and William Smith have faced off in non-conference play in each season since 2015-16, with the Golden Eagles holding a three-game winning streak in the head-to-head series. This year's 58 Main BBQ & Brew Tip-Off Classic will feature the first matchup between Ithaca and Brockport since the 2009-10 season, seeing Ithaca take an eight-point victory. Fredonia will take on William Smith and Ithaca as neutral-site contests at Brockport.
From Deep: Coming off the bench across Bockport's first four outings,
Addy VanDewater has displayed excellent three-point shooting on limited attempts. VanDewater has made a three-pointer in each of her last three outings, shooting an electric 71.4% from beyond the arc (5/7). The freshman from Buffalo has provided much-needed shooting depth for the Green and Gold and looks poised to earn a bigger role within the Brockport rotation.
Scouting William Smith: The Herons hold a 0-1 record, falling to nationally-ranked Geneseo at home, 82-53. The head-to-head series between William Smith and Brockport dates back to 2006, with Brockport winning four of the last five head-to-head meetings.
Scouting Ithaca: The Bombers hold a 1-2 record to begin the season, most recently coming up short against New Paltz on the road, 72-65. Saturday's meeting will mark the second between the Bombers and the Golden Eagles since the 2009-10 season, which saw Ithaca earn a 57-49 win over Brockport on the road.
