Brockport, NY- The top-seeded Brockport women's basketball team will host No. 8 Elmira in the first round of the Empire 8 Tournament on Saturday, February 22
nd, at 2 p.m.

Last Outing: The Golden Eagles claimed the Empire 8 Regular Season Championship with a 75-62 win over Geneseo on Tuesday, February 18
th. The Golden Eagles finished the regular season 22-3 overall and 15-1 in Empire 8 contests, securing home court throughout the E8 Tournament.
In just 13 minutes of action,
Mandy Brink led Brockport with 16 points on efficient 6-9 shooting and 50% shooting from three (3-6).
Cam Tooley provided another dynamic performance, dropping 15 points with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste poured in 11 points on solid 5-10 shooting from the floor.
Shannon Blankenship rounded out the double-digit scorers for Brockport, dropping 10 points with four rebounds.
Peyton Maneri was excellent defensively, snatching a game-high seven steals with five rebounds.
E8 ROTY Candidate: Throughout her first season with Brockport,
Peyton Maneri has emerged as a standout two-way player for the Golden Eagles. Earning E8 ROTW honors four times, Maneri concluded with a conference-best 66 steals (2.6 SPG), while averaging 8.5 points and 2.3 assists. She has recorded a steal or more in 24 of 25 games.
Heating Up: Following a 0-15 stretch from downtown in early February,
Shannon Blankenship has caught fire at the perfect time for the Golden Eagles. Blankenship has connected for multiple three-pointers in each of her last three games, shooting 50% from deep (7-14), with 10+ points in all three outings.
Top of Her Class: Despite attempting the 4
th most field goals in the conference (354),
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste has provided an ultra-efficient season that has her in contention for E8 Player of the Year. Jean-Baptiste leads Brockport with 17.8 PPG (3
rd in E8) on 48.9% shooting (4
th in E8), adding 2.5 SPG (T-2
nd in E8) and 3.6 rebounds per game. SJB has scored 11+ points in 22 of 24 games for the Green and Gold.
Scouting Elmira: The #8 seeded Soaring Eagles will head to Brockport on a four-game winning streak, finishing the regular season 12-13 overall with a 6-10 record in E8 play. The Golden Eagles will be seeking their third win over Elmira, picking up 71-58 and 74-53 wins over the Soaring Eagles.
