Brockport, NY- The Brockport baseball team will open the 2025 season in Cary, NC, for a doubleheader with William Peace University on Saturday, February 22
nd, at 9:30/11:30 a.m. The Golden Eagles will then head to Chambersburg, PA to take on Wilson College on Sunday at 2 p.m.

2024 Recap: Despite winning four of their last five to close out the season, the Golden Eagles narrowly missed out on SUNYAC Playoffs, finishing 22-16 overall and 9-9 in SUNYAC play. The Golden Eagles earned five All-Conference selections, with
Justin DelVecchio,
Jason Mansell,
Zach Eldred,
Cole Traudt, and
David Belsito all named to the All-SUNYAC Second Team. Brockport will look to return to 2023 form in their first year in the Empire 8, where they defeated Cortland for the SUNYAC Championship.

Key Returners: Losing four of five all-conference recipients from 2024, the Golden Eagles still return a plethora of talent from last year.

Zach Eldred returns for his final season at Brockport, coming off a successful 2024 season where he slashed .320/.447/.581 with three home runs and 31 RBIs. A staple of the Brockport lineup, Eldred has racked up 14 home runs, 101 RBIs, and 133 hits across 123 games played in his career.

Starting all 38 games for Brockport in 2024,
Josh Indek returns following a strong season. Index posted a respectable .315/.445/.362 slash line with 21 stolen bases and an excellent .445 OBP. Â Â

Frank Vanzillotta returns following a breakout junior year, slashing a strong .322/.461/.422 with 15 stolen bases and 11 RBIs in 28 starts.

Ryan Peters and
Michael Heilig both return to Brockport for their graduate seasons, adding experience to the Brockport rotation. Peters and Heilig combined for a strong 7-3 record in 2024 and are poised for more action in 2025.

Key Transfers: The Golden Eagles reloaded in a big way through the transfer portal, picking up proven contributors to bolster the lineup.

Jason Story joins the Golden Eagles following an excellent career at Utica, earning E8 First Team and All-Region III Second Team honors in 2024. In 108 games at Utica, Story racked up 111 hits, 88 RBIs, and 14 HR.

The Golden Eagles also welcome Division One transfer
Victor Alongi from Coppin State. Also spending time at Genesee Community College, Alongi posted a .387 batting average with 41 RBIs in 37 games played.
