Brockport, NY - The Brockport baseball team will head to Ephrata, PA, to take on Lebanon Valley on Saturday, March 1^st. Game one at Ephrata War Memorial Field is scheduled for noon, with the first pitch for game two scheduled.
 
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles wrapped up a 3-0 weekend with a 14-9 win over Wilson College on Sunday, February 23^rd.
 
Zach Eldred continued his excellent start to the season, smacking an RBI single to put Brockport up 1-0 in the top of the first. In just three games, Eldred has already posted two home runs and 9 RBIs with 12 total bases.
 
Frank Vanzillotta would reach base safely five times (1H, 4BB), scoring four times and driving in two runs.
 
Kyle Blake and Jason Story each recorded four RBIs, putting Story up to seven RBIs in the young season.
 
Thomas DiGirolomo (W, 1-0) tossed two scoreless innings with three strikeouts to earn his first win as a Golden Eagle.
 
Early Honors:  Zach Eldred was named the Empire 8 Conference Baseball Player of the Week following an outstanding opening weekend on the mound and at the plate. Eldred went 6-for-11 at the plate while posting two home runs, nine RBIs, and four runs scored.  He also walked three times at the plate. On the mound, he pitched 3.0 scoreless innings and struck out five as Brockport cruised past William Peace 12-0 in the regular season opener on Saturday.
 
Running Wild: Frank Vanzillotta had himself a weekend, slashing .500/.750/.500 with a .750 OB% and two RBIs for Brockport. Going a perfect 3-3 on stolen base attempts, Vanzillotta scored nine runs over the weekend for Brockport, displaying excellent plate patience with seven drawn walks.
 
Scouting Lebanon Valley: The Flying Dutchman have jumped out to a 1-3 start, most recently falling 15-8 to Muhlenberg in eight innings. Lebanon Valley finished the 2024 season 18-19 overall, posting a 10-11 record in MACF play.
