Brockport, NY- The Brockport baseball team will head to Florida for the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, taking on Immaculata University on Friday, March 14^th at 6:15 p.m.
 
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles scored 25 runs in a Sunday afternoon sweep of Wooster (11-5, 14-9) on March 9^th in Wooster, OH. The Golden Eagles moved to 7-0 to begin the season following the win. Brockport's 7-0 record to start the season is the best since 2001.
 
Game One: Brockport 11 – Wooster 5
 
Zach Eldred (W, 2-0) had another excellent two-way performance, going 2-5 with a homer and three RBIs, in addition to pitching five innings with five punchouts.
 
Jason Story (1-4, BB) and Matthew Coon (2-5) each homered and drove in three runs each for the Green and Gold.
 
Anthony Lapine tossed three scoreless innings out of the bullpen for Brockport.
 
Game Two: Brockport 14 – Wooster 9
 
Angelo Agro (W, 1-0) was excellent for Brockport, striking out four batters across five innings with no earned runs.
 
Jason Story would build off a good showing in game one, going 4-4 with five RBIs and five runs in an excellent outing.
 
Nick Ianniello shut the door for Brockport, tossing a scoreless ninth inning.
 
E8 AOTW: Graduate Student Jason Story was named the Empire 8 Conference Baseball Player of the Week as the backbone of the Brockport offense. Across two starts against Wooster, Story went 5-for-8 at the plate, posting two home runs, eight RBIs, and seven runs scored. Starting all seven games for Brockport, Story has slashed an excellent .367/.412/.933 with a team-high 18 RBIs and four home runs.
 
Power Surge: The Brockport bats have fueled the team's hot start, clubbing 11 home runs and 72 RBIs in seven games. The Golden Eagles accounted for just 15 home runs in 2024, with the 2025 squad already matching last year's number of players with multiple long balls (3).
 
Doing it All: Impressing at the plate and on the bump, Zach Eldred has had a start to remember for Brockport. Slashing an absurd .519/.611/.926 with five homers and 15 RBIs, Eldred has impressed on the mound as well. Leading the staff in innings pitched, Eldred holds a 2-0 record with a 2.08 ERA, with opposing batters hitting just .170 against him

Scouting Immaculata: The Mighty Macs have jumped out to a 1-9 start and are currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak. Immaculata has posted a 1-3 record in the RussMatt Invitational, with their lone winning coming against Mitchell College (2-1).
 
Up Next: Following the RussMatt Invitational, the Golden Eagles will take on Rochester in non-conference play on Wednesday, March 26^th, at 4 pm.
