Brockport, NY- The Brockport baseball team will head to Ohio to take on The College of Wooster in doubleheader action on Sunday, March 9
th. Game One is scheduled for noon, with the first pitch for Game Two scheduled for 3 pm.

Zach Eldred (W, 1-0) did it all for Brockport, pitching five innings of one-run baseball with six punchouts. At the plate, Eldred went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, continuing his excellent start.

Nick Mahar (2-2, three runs) both went yard for the Golden Eagles in game one.

Thomas DiGirolomo shut the door for Brockport, allowing just one baserunner with no hits and two strikeouts.

Kyle Blake would reach base safely five times, going 2 for 2 with three runs, three RBIs, and three walks.

Timothy Venditti was named the Empire 8 Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week after an excellent weekend at the plate. Venditti went 5-for-7 at the plate, posting two extra-base hits, five RBIs, and two runs scored. Starting all five games for Brockport, Venditti has slashed an impressive .412/.474/.588 with six RBIs and 10 total bases. Â

Starting Hot: Jumping out to a 5-0 start, the Golden Eagles have posted their best opening to a season since 2016 (6-0). As a squad, Brockport is slashing an impressive .339/.482/.509, averaging over ten runs per contest.

Scouting Wooster: The Fighting Scots are in the midst of a four-game losing streak, opening the season 1-5 overall. Wooster is coming off a 15-20 2024 season, going 5-11 in conference play. The two teams have not met since 2004, with Wooster pulling out an 8-7 win.
