Brockport, NY- The #12 Brockport baseball team will head to Utica for a three-game set, beginning on Friday, May 2^nd at 3 p.m.
 
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles defeated Ithaca in non-conference action, 8-3, on Tuesday, April 29^th. Following the victory in Ithaca, the Golden Eagles improved to 31-3-2 overall.
 
Four Golden Eagles provided multi-hit outings, with Josh Indek (2-4, BB), Zach Eldred (2-5, HR), Kyle Blake (2-5), and Victor Alongi (2-3, 3 RBI) powering the Brockport offense.
 
Jason Story and James Dixon scored two runs each to lead the Golden Eagles.
 
Putting an exclamation point on the win, Zach Eldred would launch his 17^th home run of the season, giving Brockport an 8-3 win.
 
The Brockport bullpen would secure the win, with Nick Ianniello (2.1 IP, 2K), Thomas DiGirolomo (1.0 IP), Bryce Tyndell (0.1 IP), and Troy Leibert (0.1 IP) combining for four scoreless innings.
 
Matt Mayer was excellent at the plate, reaching base safely three times with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.
 
Dialed In: With each posting 7-0 records on the season, Anthony Lapine and Zach Eldred have powered the Brockport pitching staff. Lapine leads the Empire 8 in ERA (1.36, 11^th in D3), with Eldred close behind with a 1.73 ERA (22^nd, 2^nd in E8). Lapine and Eldred have combined for 130 strikeouts across 105 innings of work.  
 
Red Hot: With hits in 14 of his last 15 outings, Victor Alongi has emerged as a top offensive threat for the Green and Gold. Alongi holds a .409 batting average, hitting .523 with nine RBIs and six runs scored in his last six outings.
 
Scouting Utica: The Pioneers hold a 17-13-1 record with a 12-9 mark in Empire 8 play, most recently defeating Alfred 17-7 last Wednesday. The Golden Eagles and Pioneers have not met since the 2010 season, which saw the Golden Eagles pick up a doubleheader sweep.
