Brockport, NY - On Tuesday, May 13^th, the Empire 8 Conference released its selections for the 2025 All-Conference Teams and individual award winners. Brockport was recognized with nine All-Conference nods, with Zach Eldred (Player of the Year), Anthony Lapine (Pitcher of the Year), and Jason Mansell (Defensive Player of the Year). Head Coach Justin Beach and the Brockport coaching staff were recognized as the Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Player of the Year/First Team Utility/First Team Pitcher: Zach Eldred
 
Zach Eldred was named the Empire 8 Player of the Year following his record-breaking fifth season at Brockport. Setting a new program record for single-season home runs (18), Eldred has slashed an absurd .425/.497/.875 on the season with 69 RBIs and 58 runs scored. Starting 12 games on the mound for Brockport, Eldred pitched to an 8-0 record with a 1.89 ERA, holding opposing batters to a .197 batting average.
 
Pitcher of the Year/ First Team Pitcher: Anthony Lapine
 
Anthony Lapine collected another award following his Empire 8 Tournament MVP, earning E8 Pitcher of the Year honors. Pitching to a perfect 9-0 record, Lapine held conference low marks in ERA (1.19) and WHIP (0.84), both ranking within the top-10 of Division 3. The senior racked up 78 strikeouts across 68 innings of work, allowing just five extra base hits and nine earned runs on the season.
 
Defensive Player of the Year: Jason Mansell
 
Starting 23 games as Brockport's primary backstop, Jason Mansell was named Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year following an excellent season behind the plate. Helping lead the Brockport pitching staff to the top of the Empire 8, Mansell recorded a .996 FLD% (1E), racking up 22 assists and 222 putouts. Mansell's 222 putouts and .996 FLD% both served as career bests.   
 
First Team Outfielder: Kyle Blake
 
After starting just four games as a freshman, Kyle Blake earned first-team All-Conference honors in an excellent year two with the Golden Eagles. Starting 41 games for the Green and Gold, Blake slashed an excellent .411/.489/.517, driving in 37 runs and smashing 13 doubles. Blake provided strong defense in left field, committing just one error on the season for a .976 FLD%.   
 
First Team Outfielder: Jason Story
 
Jason Story landed on the Empire 8 first team for Brockport in his first season wearing the Green and Gold. Transferring from Utica, Story made an instant impact, posting team second-bests in home runs (10), RBIs (69), and slugging (.607). The Hilton native launched a grand slam in the Empire 8 Championship to help secure the conference crown for Brockport.
 
First Team Relief Pitcher: Eric Servellon
 
Eric Servellon rounded out the first team selections for Brockport following an excellent season out of the bullpen. Recording multiple strikeouts in 9 of 10 appearances, Servellon finished with a 4-0 record, 2.70 ERA, and 26 strikeouts in 26.2 innings of work.
 
Second Team Second Base: Josh Indek
 
Building off a successful sophomore season, Josh Indek earned second-team All-Conference honors in his junior season. Index posted career bests in nearly all offensive categories, including AVG (.331), runs (49), hits (46), and slugging (.410). Index led all Division 3 players with 13 sacrifice bunts, recording 12 stolen bases.
 
Third Team Shortstop: Victor Alongi
 
Another impact transfer for the Golden Eagles, Victor Alongi nabbed a third-team All-Conference selection in a strong season for Brockport. Starting in 29 games, Alongi posted a .387 batting average with a .974 OPS, driving in 24 runs with two home runs.  
 
Third Team Outfield: Frank Vanzillota
 
Starting all 41 games as Brockport's leadoff man, Frank Vanzillotta earned All-Conference honors in a record-breaking season of his own. Setting a new single-season walks record (42), Vanzillota led the squad with a .497 on-base percentage, adding a strong .905 OPS and team-leading 59 runs scored.   
 
Coaching Staff of the Year: SUNY Brockport, led by Head Coach Justin Beach
 
The Brockport coaching staff of Head Coach Justin Beach, Associate Head Coach Jonathan Schwind, and Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach Kyle Canavally earned the Coaching Staff of the Year award in their first season in the Empire 8. Setting a new program record for single-season wins (36) and conference wins (21), Brockport's coaching staff has guided the Golden Eagles to a #12 national ranking and NCAA Regional appearance.

Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year: Alan Michael LeFrois
 
Alan Michael LeFrois was named the Golden Eagles' representative on the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team. One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2025 Empire 8 Baseball Sportsman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission.
