Brockport, NY- The #12 ranked Brockport baseball team has earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships and will travel to host Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA for double elimination regional round action where the Golden Eagles will take on Methodist University (NC) on Friday, May 16
th at 10 a.m.
Empire 8 Championship: The Golden Eagles defeated Russell Sage, 11-0, in the Empire 8 Championship from the Clark V. Whited Complex on Saturday, May 10
th. The win secured Brockport's third NCAA Regional appearance in the last four years.
Anthony Lapine would be named the Empire 8 Tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Zach Eldred set the tone for the Golden Eagles, tossing seven scoreless innings of two-hit baseball, collecting seven punchouts to secure the conference crown.
Jason Story and
Nick Mahar each connected for clutch home runs to seal the contest for Brockport.
Eric Servellon picked up his fourth save of the season, tossing two scoreless innings to secure the Empire 8 Championship.

Regular Season Recap: Brockport enters NCAA Regionals on a nine-game winning streak following a historic regular season. The Green and Gold posted single-season program records in wins (36) and conference wins (21) to finish with a 36-3-2 overall record and 21-1-1 Empire 8 mark. The Golden Eagles outscored their opponents 404 to 129 on the season, boasting the top pitching staff in the nation with the lowest ERA in Division 3 (2.67).
Finishing Strong: Earning the Empire 8 Tournament MVP, senior
Anthony Lapine has closed the season on an incredible run. Tossing a complete game shutout to send Brockport to the E8 Championship, Lapine has allowed less than one earned run across his last seven appearances. The Liverpool, NY native holds top-10 national marks in ERA (1.19, 2
nd), WHIP (0.84, 5
th), and victories (9, 9
th).
Scouting Methodist: The Monarchs hold a 32-13 record, winning the USA South conference with a 16-5 mark in conference play. Methodist will enter the postseason on a five-game winning streak, with senior Tristen Melvin leading the charge offensively with nine home runs and 62 RBIs on the season. The Golden Eagles will look to advance past NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2004.
