Brockport, NY – On Wednesday, May 14^th, the Empire 8 conference announced its selections for the 2025 Empire 8 Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team. Anthony Lapine was named the Empire 8 Baseball Championship MVP, with four Golden Eagles being named to the All-Tournament team.
 
Empire 8 Tournament MVP/All-Tournament Team: Anthony Lapine
 
Anthony Lapine was named the Empire 8 Tournament MVP following his shutdown performance in Brockport's 1-0 win over Russell Sage last Friday. Sending the Golden Eagles to the E8 championship on Saturday, Lapine tossed a complete game shutout, striking out eight Gators and allowing just four total baserunners.  
 
All-Tournament Team: Zach Eldred
 
Zach Eldred landed on the E8 All-Tournament team following his excellent start on the mound in Brockport's 11-0 championship win over Russell Sage. Eldred fired seven scoreless innings on the mound, allowing just two hits and collecting seven strikeouts. At the plate, Eldred went 1-for-4 with a run scored in the championship.
 
All-Tournament Team: Ryan Peters
 
Ryan Peters rounded out the trio of Brockport starters named to the E8 All-Tournament team, providing a career-best outing against Houghton. In Brockport's 11-1 win over Houghton, Peters provided eight innings of one-hit baseball, racking up a career high 12 punchouts and allowing just one unearned run.  
 
All-Tournament Team: Nick Mahar
 
Nick Mahar rounded out the All-Tournament team selections for Brockport, providing an excellent weekend at the plate. Mahar launched a clutch two-run homer in the Empire 8 Championship to extend Brockport's lead to 3-0, going 1-for-3 on the day with a walk. Across two starts, Mahar went 3-for-7 with four RBIs and two runs scored to fuel the Brockport offense.
 
Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year: Alan Michael LeFrois
 
Alan Michael LeFrois was named the Golden Eagles' representative on the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year Team. One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2025 Empire 8 Baseball Sportsman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission.
