Brockport, NY – For the second week in a row, Brockport's
Kiara Hockman was recognized as the NCGA East Specialist Gymnast of the Week.
Last week, Hockman earned the honor with her scores of 9.800 on the beam, 9.800 on the floor, and a 9.775 on the beam. This past weekend while competing against Division I programs Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois; she upped the ante.
Out in Michigan at the Golden Girls Classic, she either matched or scored season-bests in all three of those events. She scored a 9.800 on the floor to tie her season-high so far. She then went on to hit a 9.825 on the vault and a 9.875 on the balance beam, her best marks of the year.
Kiara is now the top vaulter in the NCGA, with an average score of 9.783. With an average of 9.783 once again, she is also the top ranked gymnast on the balance beam at this point in the season. With an average mark of 9.792, she ranks third in the nation on the floor.
This upcoming weekend, the Golden Eagles are on the road once again to compete. They head to the Cornell Quad Meet, where they will battle Cornell, Bowling Green, and West Chester.
