BROCKPORT, NY - On Monday, October 5th, the Empire 8 conference named Ryan Mathis as the Men's Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Following a three-goal week as the focal point of the Brockport offense, Mathis earned his first Empire 8 weekly accolade of the 2026 season.

In a 1-1 draw at Alfred, Mathis salvaged a draw for the Golden Eagles with a clutch goal in the 89th minute, leading all players with 10 shots and six shots on goal. He continued his outstanding week on Senior Day on Saturday in Brockport's 3-2 win over Russell Sage. He would add another 10-shot performance against the Gators, netting two goals, including the game-winner in the 82nd minute to propel Brockport to victory.

Leading the Empire 8 Conference in goals (7) and points (16), Mathis ranks among the top in Division III in multiple statistical categories. Ranking 29th in Division III in goals, the sophomore holds top-25 rankings in shots on goal per game (2.30, 14th) and total shots per game (3.90, 24th). Just 10 games into the season, Mathis has nearly matched his 2025 production (8G-2A) while already setting a new single-season best in game-winning goals (3).

Men's Soccer currently holds a 5-3-2 overall record with an undefeated 4-0-1 mark in Empire 8 contests. Brockport will welcome Elmira College on Wednesday, October 7th at 4 pm.
