BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Women's Basketball team (14-2 E8, #2 Seed) will welcome Elmira (7-9 E8, #6) for the opening round of the Empire 8 Tournament on Saturday, February 21st at 2 PM. Saturday's matchup will serve as a rematch of the first round of the 2025 Empire 8 Championship.

Last Time Out: Stephanie Jean-Baptiste's last-second layup guided Brockport past Geneseo, 73-71, on Tuesday, February 17th. With the regular season finale win, the Golden Eagles finish 18-7 overall and 14-2 in conference play ahead of the postseason. 

Mandy Brink anchored the backcourt with a game-high 19 points, including a lethal four-of-eight performance from beyond the arc. The veteran guard showcased her versatility and composure by adding four rebounds, four assists, and four steals to her standout performance, including the game-altering defensive stop in the final seconds. 

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste served as the engine of the offense and delivered the night's ultimate "clutch" moment. SJB finished with 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds, an evening punctuated by her game-winning scoop layup in the final seconds of regulation.

Rounding out the trio, Brianna Carey provided essential floor spacing and scoring, recording 16 points of her own while shooting 3-of-8 from deep. Carey was also perfect from the charity stripe, going three-for-three, while contributing two rebounds and two assists to the winning effort.

Soaring Ahead: Overcoming a slow start to the season, Mandy Brink has shown excellent resilience throughout the 2025-26 season. Shooting under 30% from the field across her first eight games of the season, Brink provided a strong turnaround in conference play. Across 16 conference outings, Brink provided 14.4 PPG on effective 43.5% shooting from the floor and solid 33.8% shooting from beyond the arc. The junior from Ashville, NY, led Brockport in steals in E8 Play (40), adding 5.1 rebounds per game and a team-second-best 50 assists.

Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles closed out the regular season with a 68-58 win over Keuka, securing the #6 seed in the Empire 8 Tournament. Brockport has won all four head-to-head meetings against Elmira since joining the Empire 8 for the 2024-25 season. The Golden Eagles defeated Elmira, 101-62, in last year's Empire 8 Tournament.
