BROCKPORT, NY – The Brockport Baseball team will head to Auburndale, FL, to open the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational against RV Endicott on Saturday, March 14
th at 9:30 AM.
Florida Outlook: The Golden Eagles will compete in eight contests in Florida, featuring five non-conference matchups, and three Empire 8 games to open conference.

Last Outing: The Golden Eagles (2–8) were swept in a Sunday afternoon doubleheader by UMass Dartmouth (2–6) on March 8 in Boston.
Ben Yerina turned in a strong start for Brockport in game one, tossing six innings of one-run baseball while striking out eight.
Evan Brock (2-for-4, BB) and
Matt Mayer (2-for-3, HBP) each recorded multi-hit performances in game two.

Freshman Firepower: Appearing in nine games (Seven starts),
Blake Fortunato has provided an excellent start to his freshman season for Brockport. Leading the Green and Gold with a .393 batting average, Fortunato holds top-three team marks in OPS (1.040), runs (8), hits (11), RBIs (9), OBP (.469), and SLG% (.571). The Deposit, NY native has brought speed to the Brockport lineup, snagging two stolen bases (2-2) with three doubles (T-1) and a triple (T-1).
Portal Power: Rebuilding the batting order through the transfer portal,
Evan Brock and
Michael Norton have provided power to the Golden Eagles' lineup. Clubbing five of Brockport's six home runs on the season, Brock (3 HR, 1.014 OPS) and Norton (2 HR, .995 OPS) have thrived with runners in scoring position. Norton's 10 RBI's and Brockport's 9 RBIs to begin the season sit behind
Kyle Blake (13 RBIs) for the team lead.
Top 10 Matchups: The Golden Eagles will face tough competition down in Florida, beginning with preseason #2-ranked Endicott. Brockport takes on #3 John Hopkins, who has jumped out to an 11-2 start and is currently riding a five-game winning streak. Wednesday's tilt with Salve Regina wraps up the ranked action in Florida, with the Seahawks winning four straight after dropping their season opener to Catholic University.
