BROCKPORT, NY – For the first time in program history, the SUNY Brockport Women's Flag Football team will hit the field, taking on D'Youville from Sahlen Stadium in Buffalo, NY on Thursday, March 19
th at 8 PM. The Golden Eagles will take on Roberts Wesleyan (12 pm) and D'Youville (2:30 pm) in a doubleheader from Rochester, NY, on Sunday.
A New Era: Back in February of 2025, SUNY Brockport announced the addition of Women's Flag Football as the athletic program's 24
th varsity sport. "We are thrilled to expand our varsity athletics offerings with the addition of women's flag football," said
Dr. Erick Hart, Brockport's Director of Athletics. "This is an exciting opportunity to provide more female student-athletes with a chance to compete at a high level while growing a sport that continues to gain momentum nationwide.
We look forward to building a championship-caliber program that will make an immediate impact."
Coaching Staff: Following a nationwide search, SUNY Brockport announced the hiring of
Charrise Everett as head coach last June. Graduating from Brockport in 2021, Charrise comes to Brockport from Young Women's College Prep (YWCP) in nearby Rochester, NY where she has served as the school's athletic director and a physical education teacher since 2022. She also started the girls' flag football program at East Irondequoit in 2022, and this Spring she guided the Lancers to the quarterfinals of sectionals.
Darius Taylor was brought on as Assistant Coach, bringing over a decade of coaching experience at multiple levels.
