Baseball Hosts St. John Fisher to Open Week of Empire 8 Action

Brockport, NY - The Brockport baseball team (17-15, 13-2 E8) welcomes St. John Fisher (23-6, 12-2 E8) to the Clark V. Whited Complex on Wednesday, April 22nd at 3:00 pm. The Golden Eagles will then host Alfred for a three-game set, beginning on Friday, April 24th at 3 PM. Saturday's doubleheader will serve as Baseball's Morgan's Message Game for Mental Health, beginning at noon.

Making History: Drawing his 93rd career walk in game two against Russell Sage, Josh Indek added his name to the top of the Brockport program record books. The senior second baseman's 93rd career walk in the top of the seventh inning surpassed Tom Weiner's previous mark of 92 (2002–06). The three-year starter has served as a model of constancy for the Green and Gold, posting three seasons with a .440+ OBP, 10+ stolen bases, and 25+ walks.

Scoreless Streak: Senior Bryce Tyndell has been excellent out of the bullpen for Brockport and is currently in the midst of an extended scoreless appearance streak. Tyndell has provided seven straight scoreless outings (13.2 IP), having not allowed an earned run since March 8th. He has collected 15 strikeouts and two saves over this stretch, holding a strong 3.86 ERA and .241 opposing batting average on the season.

Still Streaking: Reaching base in 27 straight games, Matthew Coon has continued to provide a power bat in the Brockport lineup. Leading Brockport in slugging (.602), home runs (6), and extra base hits (17), Coon has posted a hit or better in 21 straight games, finishing 5-for-13 with four RBI and a home run. Leading Brockport with a .360 AVG and 1.051 OPS, Michael Norton is currently riding an impressive 18-game reached base streak.

Scouting St. John Fisher: The Cardinals will enter Wednesday's matchup on a six-game winning streak, sweeping Alfred in a three-game set last weekend. The Golden Eagles have posted a 4-1-1 record against the Cardinals in the last six head-to-head meetings.

Scouting Alfred: The Saxons will be looking to snap a 24-game losing streak, with Brockport winning all three outings in the head-to-head series.

Up Next: Brockport will host Ithaca in non-conference action on Tuesday, April 28th at 4 pm.
