Box Score Annie Terilli (Brockport, NY/Brockport) scored two goals to lead The College at Brockport to a 4-2 SUNYAC victory over New Paltz on Friday afternoon at A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field.

With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 7-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference.

The Hawks started off the game strong, taking control from the first whistle. New Paltz rifled off four quick shots and then got on the board just three minutes in. The Hawks scored the first goal of the game off of a save that got away from goalkeeper Laura Thompson (Victor, NY/Victor).

The Golden Eagles were able to settle down as the half went on and eventually took over control. Heading into the second part of the half, Brockport turned up the pressure on offense. Terilli evened things up with a goal at 34:09. The ball took an odd bounce off of a Hawk defender and ended up right in front of a wide open Terilli who shot around a diving Hawk goalkeeper.

Minutes later, junior Cayli Carmona (Rochester, NY/Greece Olympia) scored her second goal of the season after ripping a shot into the back of the net from the middle of the box.

Terilli notched her second goal of the game just two minutes later to give the Golden Eagles a 3-1 lead. Terilli took a shot from the right corner of the box that chipped in just over the goalkeepers head.

In the second half, the Golden Eagles continued to dominate on offense, firing off four shots in the first five minutes.

Freshman Chelsea Stahl (Brockport, NY/Brockport) extended the Golden Eagle lead with a goal at 69:54. Vanessa Gillette (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) sent a solid crossing pass over the box and Stahl was able to connect with a header into the net.

Brockport had a few more great chances to score, but the cross bar and some good saves got in the way.

The Hawks managed to cut the Golden Eagle lead to two with a goal at 87:51, but there comeback was started too late.

The Golden Eagles return to action at home on Saturday for a SUNYAC matchup against Oneonta at 1:00 pm.
