Box Score Sophomore Amanda Riebe (Pleasant Valley, NY/Millbrook) helped The College at Brockport Women's Volleyball team win its fifth consecutive match. Riebe had nine service aces, eight digs and five kills in the 3-1 win over Alfred University.
Brockport won the first two sets of the game over Alfred by scores of 25-7 and 25-16. The Saxons had a never say die attitude as they staved off elimination with a back-and-forth match that they won 25-23. However the Golden Eagles proved to be the superior team on the night securing the match with a lopsided set, winning 25-3.
Riebe got the team rolling with seven of her nine aces coming in the first set. The Golden Eagles went on a 10-0 run with her serving. In the fourth and final frame Riebe also gave the team a distinct advantage by starting the team off with eight straight points.
Senior Jaime Snyder (Elmira, NY/Thomas Edison) also had a strong serving performance. She finished the match with five service aces to go along with her 17 digs. She keyed several impressive runs too. In the fourth set, Snyder led Brockport on an 11 point and the 20-2 lead.
Junior Kayla Barber (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) had nine kills and a very impressive 0.692 hitting percentage. Freshman Emily Flohr (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) also chipped in eight kills. Freshman Noelle Poloncarz (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) had 22 assists and freshman Rachel Fiser (Visalia, CA/Golden West) added 11 assists on the night.
