Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team is slated for a crucial pair of conference matchups this weekend on the road. The squad takes on Plattsburgh at 4 pm on Friday and Potsdam on Saturday at 1 pm.
Last Time Out: On its home field, Brockport dominated SUNY Canton in a non-conference contest with an 8-1 victory. The Golden Eagles outshot their opponent 41-2 in the match and earned a 16-0 advantage on corner kick opportunities. They had six different goal scorers, while
Camryn Pettit led all players with six points on two goals and two assists.
Kiley Longin also notched two goals on the day. The win puts the team's record at the .500 mark with a 6-6-2 record overall.
Huge SUNYAC Weekend: Brockport currently sits sixth in the SUNYAC standings, holding the last seed for the tournament heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. With only six teams making the SUNYAC Tournament and four games remaining on the schedule, every game will have an impact on who makes the postseason. The Green and Gold will have a chance to jump up in the standings with matchups against Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Fredonia, and Buffalo State remaining.
SUNYAC Standings: With a 5-1 mark in the conference, Plattsburgh has 15 points to hold the top spot going into the weekend. Geneseo and Cortland both have 13 points with four wins and one draw on their records. Both at 3-2, Fredonia and New Paltz have nine points to remain in the top six. Brockport is sixth with seven points thanks to a 2-2-1 record in the SUNYAC. However, Oswego and Potsdam are close behind with six points as both are 2-4 in league play. Oneonta and Buffalo State are on the outskirts as of right now with one point and zero points respectively in the standings. Wins provide three points to a team, a draw grants one points in the standings, while a loss is worth nothing. Each game from every team in the conference can shake up the current standings.

Kiley Longin is now the team's leading goal scorer and is tied for second in the SUNYAC with six to her name.

With just two wins over the last seven games, the Bears most recently defeated Buffalo State 3-2. #25 Mackenzie Bowie leads Potsdam with 14 total points on five goals and four assists this season. Brockport has won two of the last three meetings with Potsdam, as it took the last matchup for a road win by a score of 2-1 in 2019.
