Brockport Earns Program Record 9 All-Conference Nods; Conklin & Hibbard Take Individual Awards

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team landed a program record, nine players on a SUNYAC All-Conference team for the 2021 season. Additionally, Heather Conklin was named the Offensive Player of the Year and teammate Logan Hibbard was voted as the Rookie of the Year.

Heather Conklin, Natalie Strough, Morgan Elmer, Logan Hibbard, Courtney Cunningham, and Margaret Smith all earned First-Team All-SUNYAC honors. Allison Jennings, Lyndsie Pratt, and Cassidy Burnash were Second-Team All-SUNYAC selections.

Heather Conklin led the SUNYAC in four key statistical categories this season making her a lock for Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference. She stood above all others in the conference with 67 points, 55 goals, 63 draw controls, and 18 free position goals. Conklin's incredible season changed the record books at Brockport as she stands alone as the all-time leader in career goals and is the only player in school history to surpass the 200-goal mark for her career. With her fourth First-Team selection she becomes just the seventh SUNYAC player, third from Brockport, to earn First-Team All-SUNYAC four times.

Logan Hibbard's outstanding freshman season was rewarded with Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-SUNYAC honors. With 33 points, 22 goals, eight on free position shots, and 18 caused turnovers the first-year midfielder was top-10 in the SUNYAC for all four statistical categories. With five goals and one assist in the postseason, Hibbard also received her first SUNYAC All-Tournament Team selection.

Natalie Strough earns her first All-SUNYAC nod as a member of the First-Team, thanks to her breakout performance this year. Strough led the conference with 37 assists and her 54 total points tied for the third best in the SUNYAC. She also put her name in the school record books in 2021, registering the second most points in a single game with 11 against Buffalo State early in the year. With nine assists in the contest she set the new program record for assists in a game.

Courtney Cunningham did it all for Brockport in her sophomore campaign, earning the first All-SUNYAC First-Team selection of her career. She finished the year with 19 points, 13 goals, and six assists. With 35 draw controls and 25 ground balls in 2021, Cunningham ranked eighth both categories within the conference.

Margaret Smith was a key veteran leader for the Golden Eagle defense as she receives her first All-SUNYAC First-Team honor. She helped lead one of the top defenses in the conference, as Brockport's 7.77 goals allowed per game was the best in the SUNYAC. The team was also among the conference leaders in ground balls, caused turnovers, and successful clears.

Morgan Elmer was a brick wall in net all season for the Green and Gold and was rightfully rewarded with a First-Team All-SUNYAC selection. The junior goalie led the conference with 123 saves and a 56.2% save percentage. Elmer was also active on defense causing eight turnovers and finished tied for second in the SUNYAC with 33 ground balls. She came up with double-digit saves on six different occasions to help secure the first all-conference nod of her career.

Allison Jennings was selected to the All-SUNYAC Second-Team, earning the second postseason SUNYAC honor of her career after winning Rookie of the Year in 2019. She tied for third in the conference with 54 total points, ranked third in goals with 39, and was third with 11 free position scores. Jennings racked up nine goals in the conference tournament to earn a spot on the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team.

Lyndsie Pratt is the second defender for Brockport to earn all-conference status this year, getting the nod for Second-Team All-SUNYAC. The senior was a staple in the lineup and helped lead one of the top defenses in the conference. Pratt tallied 27 draw controls, 11 caused turnovers, 11 ground balls, and even scored one goal as a defender in 2021.

Cassidy Burnash put together an exciting sophomore season as she collects a Second-Team All-SUNYAC selection, the first postseason honor of her career. With 35 goals she was the fifth leading scorer in the conference and ranked sixth with 43 total points. Burnash played well in the postseason as well, as her four goals and two assists earned her a SUNYAC All-Tournament Team selection.

The Golden Eagles finished the 2021 season 10-3 overall, 7-1 in the SUNYAC, and an undefeated 7-0 on their home field. After defeating Oneonta, 16-7, in the SUNYAC Tournament Semifinals, Brockport fell to Cortland, 15-13, in the championship game to end the year.
