Brockport, NY – Following the win on Wednesday night against Alfred, the Brockport men's soccer team has now officially clinched a postseason berth for the upcoming Empire 8 Tournament.
 
The Golden Eagles defeated Alfred, 2-0, at home for a fifth straight win in league play. At 6-1-1 against E8 opponents, Brockport joins Geneseo (7-0, E8) as the only two teams in the conference to clinch so far.
 
Brockport has been on fire recently, improving to 7-4-2 overall on the season. To go with five wins in a row, the squad is 6-0-1 over the last seven games and have outscored opponents 16-3 in that span.
 
In year two with the Empire 8, the program is entering its second postseason appearance in the new conference. The Golden Eagles have made six of the last conference tournaments, going back to their last years playing in the SUNYAC.
 
Elmira is up next on the schedule, with Brockport hitting the road Saturday for a 2pm start to the match.
