Golden Eagles Lock Up Postseason Spot for E8 Tournament

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team has officially clinched its place in the Empire 8 Tournament and is currently sitting at first in the conference standings.

Following a dramatic 2-1 win over Alfred on Wednesday night, the Golden Eagles improved to 10-0-3 overall and 8-0-0 in the Empire 8. This not only secured a postseason berth, but also marked Brockport's best start in program history with an undefeated record through 13 games for the first time ever.

Head Coach Mike Idland and his team set the standard last season with an 11-1-1 mark through 13 games, and this year has upped the ante. Brockport has shutout the opponent 11 times this season, allowing just two goals to be scored so far to go with an undefeated record.

In the second year as a member of the Empire 8, the Green and Gold have locked up a postseason spot for the second straight year in the E8. Last season this group won the E8 regular season title and earned the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament. It will be three years in a row for Brockport in the postseason and seven postseason trips for the program since Idland took over in 2016.

Currently on a 6-game win streak, the Golden Eagles will look to stay hot on Saturday when Elmira comes to town for Senior Day. This match is set to begin at 1pm.
