Brockport, NY – On Saturday, the Golden Eagle gymnastics program picked up a dual victory at home over Ithaca College, 191.200-187.600.
Starting off with the vault, Brockport's top scorer was
Kiara Hockman. She registered a 9.775 for second place in the event at the meet.
Calissa Nisson hit a 9.525 to tie for the fourth best score on the vault.
Brockport's scoring in the first rotation was rounded out by a 9.475 from
Emma Langdon, 9.400 from
Shannon Gibbs, and
Gracie Weaver's 9.350. A group effort gave the Golden Eagles a 47.525-46.675 lead after the first rotation.
Moving over to the uneven bars, it was
Emma Brookins who emerged as the event winner for the day. She posted a 9.750 to lead Brockport's scoring in the second rotation.
Charlotte Raymond just missed a top three finish, placing fourth in the event with a 9.625.
Alexis Schulman (9.450),
Celina Satter (9.425), and
Jamarie Saravia (9.075) contributed scores to Brockport's 47.325 showing in the second rotation.
In the third rotation, Brockport hit the beam and put forth its best event performance of the meet with a 48.275 as a group. This was led by a duo of
Kiara Hockman and
Amelia York, both scoring a 9.800 with outstanding routines. The pair of Golden Eagles tied for first place on the balance beam event.
The Golden Eagles claimed the top two scores, Ithaca's Leanne Desjardins took third, and then Brockport claimed the next three spots in the event.
Alyssa Strain went big with a 9.725, just 0.025 behind the third-place score.
Lienna Kay hit a 9.525 and
Cali Czarcinski got involved with a 9.425.
Brockport would go on to seal the win with a 48.075 team score on the floor exercise in the fourth rotation. The home team would go on to record three of the top four scores in the event. This would include
Kiara Hockman's 9.800, which tied for first place on the floor.
Jamarie Saravia was awarded a 9.675 to claim third place in the event. Teammate
Cali Czarcinski would go on to earn a 9.650 with her routine on the floor. Finishing out the lineup's scoring was a 9.525 from
Lienna Kay and a 9.425 from
Claire Wood.
Next weekend the Golden Eagles will head to Ypsilanti, Michigan to compete at Eastern Michigan University's Golden Girls Classic. The tri-meet is set for a 4pm start on Saturday, January 17
th.
