BROCKPORT, NY - On Monday, February 16th, the Empire 8 Conference announced that junior Hailey Lewkowich has been named the Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.
Lewkowich earned the conference honor following a dominant offensive performance in the Golden Eagles' home opener against #23 Ithaca on February 14th. The Wading River, NY native led all scorers in the contest, netting a game-high five goals on eight total shots.
Lewkowich was the driving force behind the Brockport attack throughout the game, scoring at least one goal in three different quarters. She proved to be a reliable target for the offense, converting on a man-up opportunity early in the fourth quarter to spark a late-game scoring surge for the Golden Eagles. Her final goal of the afternoon came with just 2:42 remaining in regulation, capping off a five-point day.
Lewkowich and the women's lacrosse team will look to carry this offensive momentum into their next game on Wednesday, February 25th, at the University of Rochester at 4 p.m.
