BROCKPORT, NY - On Monday, February 16th, the Empire 8 Conference announced that junior
Arianna Reed has been named the Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Reed earned the conference honor following a gritty performance in the Golden Eagles' matchup against #23 Ithaca on February 14th. Serving as the backbone of the defense, the Lafayette, NY native recorded 11 saves while facing 23 shots on goal throughout the contest.
Facing a potent Ithaca offense, Reed was instrumental in keeping Brockport within striking distance. She displayed remarkable consistency in the cage, making four saves in the second quarter and three more in the final frame to fuel a late-game rally by the Golden Eagles. Her 11 stops marked a significant defensive stand, as she battled through over 55 minutes of play to anchor the crease.
Reed and the Golden Eagles return to action at the University of Rochester on Wednesday, February 25th, at 5 p.m.
