2025 Recap: Joining the Empire 8 for the 2025 season, the Golden Eagles produced a record-breaking 36-5-2 campaign, finishing 21-1-1 in conference play. Beginning the season 14-2-1, Brockport would embark on a 12-game Empire 8 winning streak before closing out the regular season with six straight wins to secure hosting rights for the Empire 8 Championship. Boasting one of the pitching cores in the country, the Golden Eagles would allow just one run across 27 innings of tournament action, defeating Russell Sage 11-0 in the E8 Championship to claim the conference crown.
Anthony Lapine would be named the Tournament MVP, tossing a complete-game shutout against Russell Sage (1-0)Â to send Brockport to the championship game. Despite a disappointing finish at NCAA Regionals, several Golden Eagles would earn postseason accolades.
Zach Eldred would be named D3Baseball.com Player of the Year following a historic season, with Eldred and  Lapine earning All-American honors. In his final season at the helm, head coach Justin Beach earned ABCA and D3Baseball.com Region 3 Coach of the Year honors.Â
The Pontari Era Begins: A former Golden Eagle player and coach, SUNY Brockport Director of AthleticsÂ
Dr. Erick Hart announced the hiring of
Nick Pontari as the 13th head coach in program history back in June. Success has followed Pontari throughout his career, both as a coach and a player. A former Brockport team captain, Pontari enjoyed success both as a player and as a coach at Brockport, serving as an assistant coach and associate head coach from 2015-19. Serving as head coach of the Russell Sage Gators since the program's first season in 2022, Pontari would build the Gators into a championship-caliber squad. He would guide the Gators to four straight Empire 8 Semifinals and two E8 Championship game appearances, posting a 50-32 record across his last two seasons. "His energy, passion, and leadership will make an immediate impact. I'm truly excited to welcome Nick back to lead the program he helped build. Brockport Baseball is in great hands, and I can't wait to see where he takes it next." - Justin BeachÂ
