Box Score BROCKPORT, N.Y- The Brockport Field Hockey team fell in conference play at Houghton, 3-0, on Tuesday, October 7th. The Golden Eagles dropped to 6-5 on the season and 3-1 in Empire 8 play following the loss.
The Highlanders would ride a constant offensive attack, recording a goal and 3+ shots in each of the first three periods. Kylee Barshinger opened and closed the game's scoring, netting two goals on three shots.Â
Terralyn McLaughlin would create a scoring chance off a penalty corner in the second period, but was denied by Houghton goalie Annika Galen. The Highlanders would take a 2-0 lead and a 9-2 shots advantage into halftime.
The Golden Eagle offense would come alive in the second half, outshooting Houghton 6-5 to close out the contest. Following Barshinger's second goal to extend the lead to 3-0,

Clare Devine would record shots on goal, but were unable to get Brockport on the board.
A scoreless fourth quarter would give Houghton the 3-0 win on home turf, despite a late scoring chance from
Cassidy Pado.Â
Katelynn Banning started between the pipes for Brockport, making five saves across 60 minutes of action.Â
Clare Devine led the Green and Gold with two shots on goal.
