Undergraduate Major: Health & Physical Education ’62
Was a four-year track and field standout for the Golden Eagles (1958-62); specialized in the high jump and the long jump; earned New York State Championships in 1959, 1960, 1961 and 1962 in the high jump and the same titles in the long jump in 1960 and 1962; established school records in the high jump as a freshman, sophomore and senior.
In 1964, competed in the U.S. Olympic Decathlon Championships in Palo Alto, CA, finishing in the top 10; as a student, was elected Student Director of Athletics for the Student Faculty Association in 1961-62; Campus King for the 1962 Winter Carnival; cast member of “Guys and Dolls” in 1961 and spent two months in Germany and France entertaining troops as part of the show; coached multiple sports after Brockport and served as a personal high jump coach.
Has been working in education (teacher, coach, administrator) for more than 50 years, from New York State to Florida, since graduating from Brockport in 1962; taught in the Rochester City School District, the Croton-Harmon Schools, the Red Hook Central School District, Hawthorne Cedar Knolls and The Portledge School in New York State; worked in The Sagemont School in Florida before taking his current positions with the Broward County Public Schools.
