Brockport Hall of Fame
John “Scotty” Moore will go down as one of the most decorated men’s soccer players in program history after earning First Team All-American honors in 1971. That same year he was named the fourth best collegiate soccer player in the nation and in 1972 he received the Outstanding College Athletes of America Award alongside a listing of “Who’s Who in America” as a college soccer player.
In 1971, he was the team MVP after scoring a team-best 15 goals to go along with eight assists. He was also an All-State, All-Regional Tournament and All-Conference selection under the guidance of Head Coach Bill Hughes.
Following his outstanding collegiate career at Brockport he signed a professional contract with the Rochester Lancers in the North American Soccer League in 1975. In 1990 he achieved his English Football (Soccer) Association Coaching Certificate and was also selected as "Rookie of the Year” in 1992 by the Long Island Soccer Referee's Association.
Moore graduated from Brockport in 1974 with a degree in Health Education (K-12) and did his graduate work in Special Education at C.W. Post College in Brookville, NY.
