Played both offense and defense as a lineman on varsity football team for four years (1954-57); received Little All-American honors in 1956; first Golden Eagle football player to earn Little All-American distinction; elected team co-captain as a senior.
Has taught emotionally disturbed boys at Greenburgh Eleven U.F.S.D. for past 20 years; served as Union President, representing Local 1532 AFT/NYSUT, from 1965 to 1970; resumed Union President responsibilities in 1983, which he continues to maintain at present.
Known for hard-driving determination and intensity during his playing days at SUNY Brockport; was able to outplay opposing tackles, who were often of much larger stature, by virtue of speed and quickness; spearheaded outstanding 1957 defense which still holds a number of school records.
