Two-year member of the track and field (1968-69) and cross country (1967-68) teams; set the New York State conference record in the 440-yard run with a time of :48.2 (which, converted to 400 meters, still stands as the school record today); also set school records in the 600-yard run and the mile relay; co-captain of the indoor and outdoor track teams as a senior; member of the 1968 SUNYAC cross country championship team.

Came to Brockport after completing two-year degree in math/science at Hudson Valley C.C.; continued racing after graduating from Brockport, competing with the Garden Town Track Club and the West Albany Striders; won the 1970 Adirondack Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) title in the 440-yard run; coached youth soccer, basketball, and girls' softball; continues to compete in 10k races.

Investigates human exposure to hazardous waste sites, oil spills, and other areas of contamination as a public health specialist for the NYS Department of Health; hobbies include antique restoration and reproduction, early 19th-century period houses, gardening, and landscaping.
