Brockport Hall of Fame
Matt Johnson’s decorated baseball playing career at Brockport truly came into form in 2004 as he guided the Golden Eagles to an incredible 34-15 record, a SUNYAC Conference title, an NCAA Division III Tournament Regional crown, and an appearance in the NCAA Division III World Series.
For his efforts, Johnson was named the 2004 SUNYAC Player of the Year and he was also an All-SUNYAC First Team selection as an outfielder. He ranks 15th all-time at Brockport with 132 career hits and he is the school-record holder with an incredible 20 doubles in a single season. He is tied for seventh all-time with 58 hits in a single season.
In 2004, he led Brockport with a .335 batting average and tied for the team lead with 173 at-bats. His 58 hits, 40 RBIs and 20 doubles all led the team.
Johnson came to Brockport by way of Kingston, NY and Kingston High School.
