Four-year letterwinner in track and field and three-year letterwinner in cross country at Brockport; in track, set the school record in the mile (4:17) and the 880-yard run (1:55.0); All-SUNYAC each year; All-NYS each year; won the University at Buffalo invitational in the 880 and mile as a senior; NCAA College Division qualifier in the mile as a senior; finished third in the state meet in the 880 in 1965 and the mile in 1966; in cross country, finished fourth in the state meet as both a freshman and senior; All-SUNYAC; set the school's course record.
Coached men's and women's cross country and track and field at the University at Albany over a career that spanned 1974 to 1997; led 1984 women's cross country to 8th-place at NCAAs; four women attained 16 All-American citations in track and field; hosted numerous conference, state, regional, and national events; seven men's All-Americans in track; also coached men's swimming and diving; coached at Vestal and Letchworth High Schools before Albany.
Has run a total of seven marathons, including New York City three times and Boston once; employed as the Aquatics Director at the Capital District YMCA and as an adjunct lecturer at the College of St. Rose after retirement from Albany.
