Two-year member of the varsity soccer team; also a member of the golf team; member of the 1960 All-State Soccer Team; named All-State, All-Conference and All-American in 1961; two-year member, captain and number-one golfer on golf team; played in the NCAA Soccer Championships in 1961; held single-season scoring record for the wing position with 10 goals.
Coached at five different institutions at the club, high school and collegiate levels for a total of 35 years; won numerous club and high school championships as a coach; also was a soccer referee, officiating tournaments and playoff teams with #1 rankings, such as University of San Francisco, UCLA, and Indiana; founder of Bozeman Adult Soccer League; former owner and director of Western Soccer Service, Inc. Camps and retail; guest lecturer at Montana State University; State Coach for Montana Youth Soccer, 11 years.
Public teaching career of 22 years; coached 66 student-athletes who went on to play soccer at the college level; also coached Paul Coffee, Olympic team goalkeeper and pro player for Chicago Sting and Tulsa Roughnecks, Jerry Bevans, pro player for San Jose Earthquakes, and Mark Langston, professional pitcher for the Seattle Mariners, California Angels, San Diego Padres, and Cleveland Indians.
