Undergraduate Major: Education/History ’62

Four-year member of the Brockport men’s basketball program the three-year standout on the tennis team; as co-captain as a senior, named to the SUNYAC basketball all-tourney squad in 1962 (30 points in championship game); held records for the highest scoring freshman in school history as well as the most points in a game (41 vs. Canisius); scored 1,006 points in his varsity career, just the second player in school history (along with teammate and Hall of Famer Dick Kraft) to surpass that milestone; 8th on all-time career average scoring list with 17.3 points per game.

Continued a basketball career playing for the United State Air Force; was named team captain and was the high scorer for teams at Lakeland and Bergstrom Air Force Bases in Texas; coached several successful all-star youth basketball teams while living in Texas, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.

Served four years in the military finishing as a first lieutenant at Incilik AFB in Adana, Turkey; began his career in business with stints at Grumman Aerospace Corp., Singer Corp., Purolator Courier Corp. and Gelco Courier Corp. before earning the position of CEO and President of Carolina Trailways starting in 1985; retired in 2000; served on the Executive Committee of the American Bus Association and Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau; was Chairman of the National Trailways Transportation Association from 1990 to 1993 and again from 2000 to 2008.
