Co-founder, player and coach of the Brockport Hockey club team from 1960 to 1964; worked with two classmates at Brockport to establish the club program, set up the competitive schedule and organize the practices for the club that would eventually become the varsity program at the College; member of the 1960 junior varsity baseball team at Brockport.

Continued to play on competitive hockey teams in the Buffalo area and southern Ontario from 1955 to 2012; played for the Town of Lancaster baseball team in the Erie County Suburban League from 1964 to 1976; played for various fast-pitch softball teams in the Amherst and Lancaster Classic Leagues from 1967 to 1975; was inducted into the Depew High School Wall of Fame; earned recognition from the Erie County Legislature for 50 years of service to the youth of the Lancaster and Depew areas; honored by the National Hockey League for 25 years of off-ice dedicated service; earned the Brockport Golden Eagle Hockey Coaches Award in 1975.

Taught for 35 years in Lancaster School District; original member of the Meals on Wheels steering committee for the Town of Lancaster; developed, conducted and taught umpire clinics from 1968 to 1990, leading countless youth and adults into umpiring service for Little Leagues and other baseball leagues in Lancaster and Depew.
