Helped bring baseball back to Brockport as a standout three-year captain in the mid-’80s; played four years in the green and gold after the program had been shut down for the first part of the decade; was a two-time All-SUNYAC centerfielder and catcher; also was named to the All-Upstate New York All-Star team and played in the Upstate vs. Downstate All-Star Game; still holds records for home runs (20) and triples (9) in a career, despite playing significantly less games than current teams; also still ranks in the top 10 in almost all career and season offensive categories, including career runs batted in (97), career slugging percentage (.595) and career stolen bases (28); played professionally in the Detroit Tigers’ organization in 1990.

Was elected the 56th sheriff of Niagara County (dating back to 1808) in November of 2008; also served as chief deputy, criminal patrol captain, accident reconstructionist and academy instructor with the County; was a member of the City of Jamestown Police Department and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office before moving back to Niagara County.

Elected to the Western New York Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008; has volunteered with United Way of Niagara, Red Cross and Community Missions, Niagara Falls; has been on the Board of Directors of the SPCA.
