All-American soccer player at Brockport, 1954; all-time Brockport scoring leader with 35 goals, 18 assists, 98 points; had 10 straight games with at least one goal; led the team in scoring in 1953 (seven goals, five assists), 1954 (14-4), and was second in 1955 (14-9); key member of Brockport's National Championship team in 1955; All-New York State, 1953, 1954 1955; Varsity Club, 1953, 1954, 1955; senior class treasurer and a member of Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, poetry published in The Stylus and the annual book.
Received honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, 1958; Irish Canadian soccer team, 1959-66; President, Youngstown Lions Club, 1967-68; "Lion of the Year," 1966-67; "Teacher of the Year," Lewiston-Porter, 1973-74; founding member of the Niagara Pioneer Soccer League (800 participants); Mayor of the Village of Youngstown (two terms), 1974-78; as mayor, received citation from Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudedu during the U.S. Bicentennial celebration in 1976.
