Three-year starter on the football team; named a second-team Pizza Hut All-American after his senior year (1987), and to the Football News preseason All-America team in 1987; led the start of the resurgence of the program in the late '80s with strong play as a linebacker and on special teams; set or tied 10 school records in his career, including fumble recoveries in a game (3), season (5) and career (8) and passes defensed in a career (26); had 207 career tackles (still ranked in the top 15 in school history), eight sacks, seven interceptions, three blocked kicks, and a punt return for a touchdown; honored by the ECAC as Defensive Player of the Week once and to the ECAC Honor Roll three times; team MVP as a junior and senior.
Transferred to Brockport after one year at Heidelberg (OH) College; played a season of semi-pro football for the Buffalo Gladiators (1994) after graduation.
Has served as athletic director and head football coach at Panama Central since 1996; three-time division Coach of the Year (1997, 2000, 2001) and was the Western New York Small School Coach of the Year in 1997; was a high school assistant at Depew, JFK, Victor, and Brighton before going to Panama; also has coached basketball and track and field at the high school level.
